In March 2012, South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony passed away suddenly. Known as “the elephant whisperer”, Lawrence had dedicated his life to rescuing and rehabilitating traumatised wildlife, especially elephants. He had a deep understanding of animals and believed in their ability to feel and remember. But what happened after his death left even seasoned wildlife experts stunned. A solemn arrival Two days after Lawrence’s passing, two separate herds of elephants arrived at his home in KwaZulu-Natal. They had not been there in over three years.
