“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord...”– Hebrews 12:14 Life can be challenging. When things feel uncertain, it is easy to grow weary or slip into complacency. But as believers, we are called to something more. Jesus reminded His disciples to “watch and pray” (Matt 26:41). This was not just advice – it was a warning not to fall asleep spiritually. Stand firm in dark times We are Christ’s ambassadors. That means we should live differently, especially when the world around us seems dark and confused. This is not the time to shrink back or stay silent. It is the time to press in, pray often, and stay anchored in God’s Word. Choose courage and holiness Sometimes it feels easier to stay…

At the age of 40, I was in the prime of my life and an avid cyclist. I had won quite a few prizes over the years, but as time went on, the prizes didn’t matter anymore, I cycled more for the purpose of staying fit and healthy. I was good friends with Lindsay, a devoted Christian who was severely disabled and confined to a wheelchair. Two friends on a tandem The thought struck me that perhaps we could cycle together on a tandem bike. On his own, Lindsay wouldn’t be able to control a regular bike, but on a tandem I was there to stabilise the bike. We tried it on a demonstration model – and, miraculously, he was able to pedal! Lindsay was overjoyed, and our rides became…
Email your questions to: info@joymag.co.za There is a video doing the rounds where Billy Graham says tithing is sin. Is this true? I believe plain Bible teaching, regardless of who gives their personal perceptions. Never trust the voice of man. Let the Lord Jesus Christ have the final say: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone” (Matt 23:23). I have heard dozens of Billy Graham sermons. The voice in…
