On Easter Sunday, Pope Francis led Easter Mass (a religious service for Catholic Christians) in St Peter’s Square, for 45,000 worshippers. The square is in the Vatican City, which is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic church within the Italian capital, Rome. The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church and crowds were glad to see him because just a few days earlier he was ill in hospital with a chest infection. Easter is an important celebration for Christians. During the ceremony, the Pope prayed for people who are suffering around the world, including those in Haiti, Tunisia and Ukraine.
