Three modified Mini Coopers given to Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are to be reunited for the first time since 1966, when manager Brian Epstein first took delivery of the cars from coachbuilder Radford and Hooper. They will be displayed at this year’s Goodwood Revival, on September 13-15.
Following its appearance in the 1967 Magical Mystery Tour movie, McCartney’s ‘California Sage Green’ Mini De Ville (reg GGJ 382C) ended up in a collection in the United States, while the car owned by George (LGF 695D) was sold to Eric Clapton, before finding its way back to the Harrison family. Meanwhile, in 2017, Ringo’s Mini (LLO 836D) was bought at auction for more than £100,000 by Spice Girl Geri Halliwell.
