TWO Phoenix brothers who were found guilty of crimes stemming from the July 2021 unrest, will turn to the Supreme Court of Appeal to have their sentences reviewed.
Dylan Govender, 29, and his brother Ned, 30, were charged with the murder of Mondli Majola, 19, from Zwelisha Township near Phoenix.
He was shot while walking along Desertpalm Gardens in Palmview to Cornubia during the 2021 unrest, and died at the scene.
Three men who were with him – Mxolisi Putuzo, Nkululeko Mangwe and Qaphelani Mkhovu – were also attacked.
Dylan, 29, a graphic designer, and Ned, 30, a mechanical engineer, from Palmview, were also charged with attempting to murder the trio.
