MIKE MYERS HAS been thinking about The Pentaverate — the secret society that forms the backbone of his brand-new, six-part Netflix comedy series of the same name — for a long time. How long, exactly? Well, in Myers’ 1993 comedy So I Married An Axe Murderer, his conspiracytheory-obsessed Scot, Stuart McKenzie, embarks on a rant that contains some very pertinent information. “It’s a well-known fact, Sonny Jim, that there’s a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as the Pentaverate, ” says Stuart, “who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado.”
