Keos Masons co-founder Cedric Seaut spent barely a week perfecting this piece. “I froze the ZBrush camera first to be able to sculpt only what is visible,” Seaut explains, “then I used smart material from my personal library in Substance Painter to come up with the texture, which was really fast, and finally spent some time in Marmoset to get something nice with HDR.”
Seaut eschewed any unusual techniques, sculpting by hand in ZBrush using curves to realise the lattices and polishing using HPolish, Clay and Chisel brushes. The rest is mainly thanks to the ZBrush Compositor. “I deeply love that script, it saves a lot of time,” he adds.
