What did the protesters do?
Thousands of Bolsonaro supporters attacked government buildings in Brazil’s capital, Brasília, including Brazil’s congress (parliament) where laws are made. They also attacked its supreme court, the most important court in the country, and the building where the president works. They started fires, threw furniture, broke windows and destroyed many important works of Brazilian art. As it was a Sunday, hardly anyone was in the buildings. Bolsonaro was in Florida, US, when the violence happened.
