RHANA Naicker, the former CEO of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini’s Bayede Foundation, and her alleged accomplices were arrested last week and charged with fraud amounting to R650 000.
Naicker, 56, a businesswoman, and her co-accused, Adriel Joanan Vadiveloo, 27, both of Richard Bay, and Ravi Naidoo, 58, of Phoenix in Durban, were charged with two counts of fraud.
They were arrested by Lieutenant-Colonel VC Pillay, the section head of the fraud division at the Richards Bay SAPS, between Monday and Tuesday last week.
The accused appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Naicker, the former head of the research support office at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Africa Centre, and Vadiveloo, a sales and business consultant, were each granted R10 000 bail.
