Kenwood has just released the DMX553DABS, its latest double-DIN multi-media head unit offering exceptional quality and a suite of features. In addition to full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the DMX553DABS also has screen mirroring functionality. Kenwood’s 6.8 inch screen is now high-resolution Wide Super VGA, with 1024 x 600 pixels, giving brilliant, brighter colours and great definition. Audio quality is improved too, with a 2.5V preout level. A DAB radio receiver ensures drivers have the widest choice of stations, and there is a GPS antenna included. It’s hard to believe that only a decade or so ago modified cars were home built and could be found cruising every high street or parked up chilling in supermarket car parks of an evening. Jeroen Raske, the owner of this superb Skoda you see before you (yeah, I cracked that pun, so sue me!) feels somewhat like a kindred spirit. You see Jeroen is what I like to refer to as fully grown.
