Have you been following the #100days100blocks2017 challenge on Instagram? The premise is simple – sew one block from Tula Pink's Modern City Sampler book every day, for one hundred days. After seeing all of the beautiful blocks from last year and seeing host Angie Wilson's finished quilt in person at Quilt Market, I decided that this year I would sew along. I’ve pulled a lot of red swatches for this rough draft. I want to steer the reds toward the coral side. because I don’t care for the light reds that read almost pink. I also wanted to see what happens when I spin the dark reds toward the magenta side of dark red... I think I’m trying to make reds do too much in the combo so I’m going to narrow down my red palette. I do like the Kona Bordeaux dark red though, yum! Had I not played around with the purple side of red, I doubt I would have discovered how well it works with the teals.
