HONEY, I SHRUNK THE ASTON. WHEN IT came to replacing my still very much missed V8 Vantage, I’d thought long and hard about what I wanted from my next toy – and quickly realised that it had to tick many of the same boxes as the Vantage (and not just by being an almost identical shade of red). First, it had to be rear-wheel drive. Second, it had to be a proper sports car, so no hatches, saloons, estates, wafty convertibles or, God forbid, SUVs.
