Lifting up the teapot, I felt sure my arm was about to give way.
Strange, I thought, I must have done this move a million times.
But for some reason, on that day in February 2002, my left arm just felt very weak.
I didn’t think it was anything serious, though.
Still, I mentioned it in passing to my then-husband.
‘Maybe you should get that checked out,’ he suggested. ‘Just in case.’
So I booked an appointment with my GP.
And, just weeks later, he’d arranged a short stay in hospital for me.
‘We’re going to run some tests,’ doctors explained.
Over the course of five days, I was back and forth for tests.
They took blood daily, gave me a lumbar puncture, too. Even removed…
