Standing super-tall, like any 4x4 Sprinter, the K-Peak emphasises its go-anywhere nature with chunky BFGoodrich All-Terrain tyres on black steel rims. A dria has long been at the forefront of the fixed bed campervan scene, so it’s more of a surprise that it’s taken the company a while to offer an alternative to the Fiat Ducato than the fact that a MAN-based line-up is now available. HI This month’s column was going to be about my trip to a leisure vehicle accessory factory but in light of unexpected events in my life, I want to talk about medical emergencies on the road instead. Shrewsbury-based VW campervan converter, Bodans, has added a new gas-free model to its range. Based on the outgoing VW Transporter T6.1, the new Pentire Explorer is priced from £62,995 (on a 110hp Highline van). The new model adopts the classic side kitchen layout but, in line with its off-grid ethos, it comes with a diesel hob and diesel heating. Then, on the electrical side, it has a lithium leisure battery, 200W solar panel and EcoFlow Delta 2 Max 230V off-grid mains power. Swift has been busy updating its campervan range. First came the Trekker and Trekker X on the ‘big’ Transit, now they’re followed by the new Monza S, based on the latest Tourneo version of the Transit Custom. Like the original Monza campervan, which debuted in 2022, the new model is a pop-top ’van with a side kitchen layout. However, it benefits from the many enhancements of the all-new ‘V710’ Transit Custom van. So, the new model has a lower floor, with no external step required, while the walk-through from the cab has been improved as there’s now an electronic parking brake.
