We’ve covered Bitcoin more than a few times in the pages of APC, but the last nine months or so has seen the craze over cryptocurrencies reach new heights (before then plunging again to new depths). They’ve been called pyramid schemes and economic bubbles by notable economists, but that doesn’t seem to have done much to dampen enthusiasm, as every man and his dog wonders whether they should buy up some cryptocurrency as an investment.
This being APC, we’re a bit more interested in the technical side of things and, specifically, whether it’s still worth mining crypto on your desktop PC — it is, after all, a relatively risk-free way of speculating, as, if you’ve already got a half-decent graphics card, you’re not putting any real money on the line…
