Walking into class, a familiar tingling sensation rippled through my stomach.
Sitting at my desk, my belly felt numb.
‘You OK?’ a friend asked, noticing me grimace.
‘Fine,’ I shrugged, forcing a smile.
It was 2011, and aged 13, this wasn’t the first time I’d experienced this odd feeling.
I thought it was just period pain. Only, sometimes I felt it in my legs, too, travelling up my back.
At home, I switched off my worries. Flopped on the sofa to watch my favourite film, The Princess Diaries.
Daydreamed of having my own glitzy crown like Mia, the main character.
One day…
But the numbness slowly spread around my body.
I’d always been sporty, but I began opting out of netball, lacrosse and gymnastics.
