BMW HAS launched the 2025 update for the 3 Series with prices starting at Rs 62.60 lakh (ex-showroom). VOLVO HAS launched the facelifted XC90 that comes with a mid-life update for the SUV, ahead of its generational change. Exterior gets a new bolder chrome grille, as well as a new sculpted bonnet. LEXUS HAS launched the updated LX 500d that is now available in the Urban and the Overtrail variant. It continues to be powered by the 3.3-litre V6 diesel that makes 304bhp and 700Nm of torque, sent to all the wheels via a full-time 4WD system. For 2025, the LX gets the Overtrail trim, which essentially is a slightly more off-road specced version, and comes with an exclusive shade called Moon Desert. It also gets a black grille, aluminium wheels and also gets front and rear differential locks, along with the standard central diff lock. MARUTI SUZUKI has updated the Alto K10 with six airbags as standard. This marks a significant move for India’s largest automaker. This move also makes the Alto K10 the only vehicle in its segment to come with six-airbags. The safety update includes additional safety kit including three-point rear center seat belt, improved rear safety with luggage retention crossbars. As before it comes with ESP, ABS, and EBD. Prices have increased for the Alto across the range, with the price now ranging from Rs 4.23 lakh (exshowroom) to Rs 6.21 lakh (ex-showroom), that is an increase of Rs 16,000 compared to the older car. KIA EV6 HAS been updated and launched for a price of Rs 65.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It now boasts of reworked design as well as updated interiors. Apart from this, the biggest update comes in the form of a larger battery pack. It is available in a single GT-Line AWD variant, but internationally, there are two more variants. ASTON MARTIN has revealed the Vanquish Volante, making it the most powerful convertible from the automaker. Based on the Vanquish, the Volante looks exactly the same, save for the fabric roof, that opens in 14 seconds and closes in 16 seconds. Changes to the car includes underbody bracing, to ensure that the Volante maintains the same rigidity as the coupe, while using a fabric roof. As compared to the older DBS Volante it is 75 per cent laterally stiffer, that should mean very superior driving dynamics. SUZUKI HAYABUSA has been updated for OBD2B-compliance, with the other addition being three new colour options. The Hayabusa’s powertrain is the same liquidcooled, 1,340cc, inline-four motor that produces 190bhp and 150Nm of torque. It is still paired with a six-speed gearbox that gets a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. The Hayabusa has various electronic aids like traction control, power modes, launch control, cruise control and dualchannel ABS, which are continued from the last model. ROYAL ENFIELD has added two new colour options to the Guerrilla 450 lineup called the Piex Bronze and Smoke Silver. AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE manufacturer Harley-Davidson has taken the wraps off its most powerful production motorcycle yet. It is called the CVO Road Glide RR, and since this is a special edition, it is limited to just 131 units worldwide. It is powered by the most powerful Milwaukee-Eight engine ever factory-installed into a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. It comes with CNCported heads, Screamin’ Eagle internals, and is capable of churning out 153bhp and 204Nm of peak torque. NUEGO HAS announced the integration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) across its entire electric bus fleet. Since its launch in 2022, NueGo has been deploying ADAS in a phased manner for existing buses and currently operates over 275 electric buses across India. This initiative places NueGo well ahead of the government’s proposed mandate for ADAS in heavy commercial vehicles. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) make use of sensors, cameras, and radar to continuously monitor road conditions and assist drivers with features such as collision warnings, lane departure alerts, and automatic emergency braking. TVS HAS opened registrations for the 2025 Petronas TVS India One Make Championship, with the selection rounds slated to take place from May 9-11 at the Madras International Circuit. Firsts are always special, especially when you love what you do. So when I was handed over the keys of the Hero Xtreme 125R, my elation knew no bounds. In that moment, I knew that this motorcycle would occupy a unique spot in my heart, but that is when I reminded myself that as an automobile journalist, I have to be nonpartisan in my reviews. TATA HAS added the Curvv to its Dark family, with both petrol, diesel and EV variants on offer. All of the chrome on the exterior of the car has been replaced with blacked out elements, that along with the new Carbon Black exterior paint and 18-inch alloy wheels make the Curvv Dark unique and bold. Inside the Dark theme continues, replacing the lighter colours. Black trims are applied on the roofliner, dashboard and the leatherette upholstery. LAND ROVER HAS launched the most-powerful version of the Defender here, called Octa. Unlike the regular Defender series, the Octa benefits from the 6D Dynamic suspension system, that has hydraulically linked dampers, hence deleting anti-roll bars. According to the brand, this suspension is so advanced that it almost eliminated pitch and body roll while driving off the road, while allowing the car to achieve greater wheel articulation. It gets longer and tougher wishbones, underbody protection, a 28mm increase in clearance, improved wading depth and a revised steering rack. It also gets flared wheel arches, different grille, higher ground clearance, and 22-inch wheels with all-season rubber. CITROEN HAS launched special Dark Edition trims for the C3, Aircross and the Basalt models. Like other blacked out models, the exterior for the Dark Edition is blacked out, with blacked elements such as the grille, alloys, and trims. MAHINDRA HAS added a blacked-out version to the XUV700 called Ebony Edition. The Ebony is based on the AX7 and AX7 L variants and demands a Rs 15,000 premium. THERE’S NOW a manual iteration of the Toyota Legender. Before this, the Legender was only sold with a six-speed automatic gearbox in its 4x4 guise. Now, however, it gets a six-speed manual gearbox, which comes mated to a 2.8-litre diesel engine, which churns out 204bhp. VOLVO HAS taken the wraps off its first ever electric sedan, the ES90, the greener counterpart to the Swedish brand’s flagship S90. It is based on the SPA2 architecture, along with 800V electric system. This allows the 106kWh battery pack to be juiced up by a 350kW DC charger, adding 300km of range in a mere 10 minutes, maximum range meanwhile sits at 700km. Volvo has kept the drivetrain details under wraps for now, but the ES90 is likely to feature a dual-motor AWD setup. BMW MOTORRAD has globally unveiled an all-new model in its extensive line-up. The R 1300 R, as the name suggests, shares its powertrain with the R 1300 GS, which is the brand’s full-size ADV. It is a successor to the R 1250 R, and apart from sharing the same engine, it also has the same main frame as the aforementioned adventure tourer. Addiction is an issue, but not when it involves automobiles. This has been the case with the Ather Rizta at the moment, where I am truly enjoying the smoothness associated with electric scooters. The Rizta cruises with ease and especially when returning home after a hard day at work. There is no noise or vibrations to complain about, and the Rizta, unlike its sibling, the Ather 450X, is not noisy at all. The whine from the motor is well-controlled, and that is something I like. THE ELROQ RS has become Skoda’s most powerful electric car yet, with 335bhp on tap. Based on the standard Elroq, this has been developed by Skoda’s RS division. A couple of e-motors mounted fore and aft give it AWD capability and the 335bhp helps it achieve 0 to 100kmph in just 5.4 seconds. Battery is an 84kWh unit that Skoda claims gives it a WLTP certified range of 550km on a single charge. HYUNDAI HAS unveiled a new concept based on the Inster, called the Insteroid. Inspired by gaming and cyberpunk-ish aesthetic, the Insteroid is developed for drifting. The body has been elongated and widened, while it sports track-optimised wheels, that have a widened track and more prominent wheel arches. A number of aerodynamic changes have also been made including a large front splitter, wheel covers, a large wing spoiler and wheel arch vents. As a weight saving measure, the cockpit has been stripped out of most of the comfort features, it gets bucket seats, a roll cage, and a custom instrument cluster. BMW R 12 GS has broken cover internationally after a long wait. It takes inspiration from the R 80 GS and will be the newest member of the R 12 family of motorcycles. It derives its power from a 1,170cc, oil-cooled engine that is capable of producing 107bhp and 115Nm of torque, whilst being mated to a six-speed gearbox. The R 12 GS has multiple riding modes like Rain, Road and Enduro. The motorcycle also gets Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque (MSR) control as standard. MCLAREN WILL return to the FIA WEC Hypercar in 2027. The brand had previously raced in the category during the 1990s with the McLaren F1 GTR, which secured the overall victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, exactly 30 years ago. Our time with the Mavrick 440 has come to an end, so in this review, we shall give you a rundown of our experience with Hero’s cruiser.
