There’s a curious sign at Stuttgart Airport for Automated Valet T Parking. It’s a project developed by Mercedes in partnership with Bosch and Apcoa that allows your car to park itself in the garage, leaving you to head straight for your flight. I visited the parking garage for myself this week and got a full demo of the process. The Intelligent Park Pilot technology required to operate the automated valet parking is currently available for seven models of Mercedes-Benz, including the Mercedes S-Class (including the LWB version), EQS, EQS SUV, EQE, EQE SUV and the new Mercedes E-Class. The PlayStation Portal Remote Player, to use its full name, is a portable games machine with its own screen and wrapped in a controller – much like a Switch or many of the other portable consoles, but it’s also quite different. It doesn’t technically run games, for starters. Instead, it uses a PlayStation 5’s existing Remote Play functionality to stream games over a home or external wireless connection, using your PS5 as the host and the Portal as a receiver. The Portal only has an LCD touchscreen, but it’s highly impressive nonetheless. Being eight inches means it is beefy and bold enough to make a gameplay session feel more tangible, and it has a decent viewing angle to boot. As well as aiming to be one of the best Chromebooks around, the latest version of Acer’s 514 Chromebook has the Plus label attached, putting it at the vanguard of the new Chromebook Plus scheme, a badge of quality for Google ChromeOS laptops. Chromebook Plus is a certain benchmark that laptops have to reach to get the premium label attached to them, and that benchmark includes having at least a 1080p HD screen.
