The Shorthanded Ocean Racing Association of Australia Inc. (SHORAA) announces the Race Around Australia 2028 (RAA), a doublehanded yacht race marking 40 years since the 1988 Bicentennial event.
The RAA covers over 7,000 nautical miles in five legs, starting in Sydney in August 2028 and stopping at the Whitsundays, Darwin, Fremantle, and Hobart before finishing in Sydney in November. The route traverses three oceans and Australia’s rugged coastline, including the Great Barrier Reef, Cape York, Arnhem Land, Cape Leeuwin, the Great Australian Bight, Tasmania, and Bass Strait.
