Choosing the right colours can make or break even the best quilt design, so I wanted to share with you a little quilting hack that's transformed the way I think about selecting fabrics. First of all, get yourself a Kona colour chart (honestly, the best thing I've ever bought) then transfer each of those little swatches to individual cards, taking care to transfer the shade info too. These little tabs of colour are invaluable when I'm trying out fabrics and even if I'm not working in solids, they're a great reference point for combos. Tell us about yourself! I am a farmer’s wife and mother to two little girls. We live and work on a livestock property in Central NSW, Australia. It truly is one of the most beautiful places and I feel so blessed to be able to bring our girls up there. I grew up not far from where we live, and it’s so nice to be home again. This issue I’m shaking things up and I'm going to share some colour palettes that are a bit pared down. On Pinterest, I have a board for what I call muted colours. This board has colourful brights (which I’ll never give up!) in a sophisticated fashion. In short, I'm a grown-up, but I never want to give up my crayons – I'll just switch to colouring pencils! Sophistication may be different to you, but to me it means presenting the shades elegantly and stylishly. Blue and Green: Take 1 To add colour depth to the combo, I'm adding in a low-volume blue and green. The green also has hints of yellow to broaden the palette. It’s no secret that I love the internet. It allows me to live the life I dream of, be friends with amazing people all over the world and order the most amazing variety of fabrics. There’s one downside to the internet though – online bullying.
