London cabbies, after mayor Sadiq Khan unveiled new plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street. Khan said that the scheme would inject new life into the shopping street, which is overcrowded, congested and a hotspot for pickpockets. But some cab drivers warned that it would have a disastrous impact on their business, and push more traffic onto smaller surrounding streets.
Flamingo Land, with the rejection of its plan to build a £40m mega-resort on the banks of Loch Lomond. Locals had been fighting the development, which would have included two hotels, more than 100 lodges, a water park and a monorail, since 2018. Some 150,000 people had lodged an objection against it.
