SHINY THINGS. WE can’t help being drawn to them, like magpies. Triumph’s Speed Triple RS has really impressed us on the road, and sits above some serious hardware on the leaderboard. Notably, the KTM Super Duke R, BMW S1000R Sport and Yamaha MT-10 SP are all trailing in its wake. But here is the thing: for nearly £2000 less than the RS, you can get the S, with the same engine, chassis, wheels, brakes, clocks and so much more that it’s easier to list what they don’t share. The S has no keyless ignition (which is actually a good thing), no Öhlins suspension, no Arrow exhausts, no quickshifter, no ‘Track’ mode, and no carbon trinkets.
