I ALWAYS LOVE visiting Paris for the collections, and one of the recent highlights was lunch with Hermès's artistic director, Pierre-Alexis Dumas, on the roof of the company's headquarters. BEAUTY ROUTINE I wash my face with soap in the evening and put on loads and loads of moisturizer, and that's it. I wash my hair with L'Oréal Inoa Color Care shampoo and conditioner in the morning, blow-dry the fringe, and let the rest air-dry. When I use dry shampoo, it's L'Oréal Fresh Dust. Romain de Tirtoff, the artist known as Erté, illustrated more than 200 Harper's Bazaar covers. Little did he know that one drawing, Dreams and Realities, for the February 1923 issue, would inspire Gucci's creative director, Frida Giannini, nearly a century later. Giannini says she gravitated toward Erté's "distinctive contrast between sleek black and vivid colors and the curving, rhythmic lines he brought to life with such elegance." His swooping Art Deco shapes are evoked in Gucci's Spring 2014 collection as shimmering silk jacquards cut into kimono jackets and gossamer dresses. When David Yurman introduced his Renaissance Cable Bracelet in 1983, he created an icon. Ever since, fans have snapped up the preternaturally elegant bracelets, beloved for their blend of ancient and modern elements. In honor of the signature style's 30th anniversary, the jewelry designer has crafted special-edition versions of the time-tested favorite, which run the gamut from colorful aluminum pieces to captivating micro-pavé renditions in white, black, or cognac diamonds.
