Wide-eyed, my daughter Aleesha, then 5, was glued to the laptop.
It wasnāt Peppa Pig or PAW Patrol that had her hooked.
It was January 2021, and my girl was watching a presentation on rainforests for her school project.
As the presenter talked about deforestation, where big companies chop down large areas of the rainforest, her little face crumpled.
āWhy are they cutting down trees, Mummy?ā she asked.
āErā¦ā I said, not knowing how to answer. āWhy donāt we ask them?ā
So, with my help, Aleesha wrote an email, asking big companies what they were going to do to protect rainforests.
She had loads of replies, but wasnāt stopping there.
āI want to write to Sir David Attenborough,ā Aleesha announced.
