MURDER accused Grayson James Beare has been found fit to stand trial.
He is accused of stabbing a Glenmore family, and killing their mother, apparently because they supported Palestine.
Beare, 44, of Berea, was charged with the murder of Halima Firoza Hoosen-Preston and the attempted murder of her husband, Sean Preston, and their son Adam, 18.
The father and son, who were also stabbed multiple times, are still in hospital.
Their 13-year-old daughter, Sofia, was not harmed.
Beare appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court yesterday, after undergoing a mental assessment earlier in the morning.
State prosecutor, Calvin Govender, told the court that Beare had been evaluated by a district surgeon and was found fit to proceed with the matter.
