Ordway says she and Gaston have a few friends who are trying to adopt through the foster-care program. “Some people are scared to adopt through the foster-care system, because it is a scary process,” she concedes. “You don’t know how to start or what these children have been through. There are thousands of children in Los Angeles alone who are in the foster-care system.
