Britain is falling out of love with dating apps, research by Ofcom suggests. According to the regulator, Tinder has lost 600,000 of its UK users since 2023, while Hinge has lost 131,000, Bumble 368,000 and Grindr 11,000. Tinder and Hinge’s owner, Match Group, said that Gen Z users are seeking “a lower-pressure, more authentic way to find connections”. “Put another way, after years spent getting ghosted, catfished and generally treated as disposable, young people are now ready to stop swiping,” said Marie Le Conte in The Sunday Times.
