POST in conjunction with Durban Tourism took readers on a Ricksha bus tour around the city, visiting historical Indian heritage sights last week.
Mthandeni Buthelezi, the tour guide, provided information on the places of interest. The tour departed from the Durban beachfront and stopped at uShaka Marine World, Point Waterfront, Durban port, Victoria Street Market, Juma Musjid Mosque, Durban City Hall, the International Convention Centre, KwaMuhle Museum, Currie Road viewpoint, Durban Botanic Gardens and the 1860 Indian Heritage Centre.
At the Victoria Street Market, Goolam Habib Madari, the owner of Madari and Sons spice shop, spoke on the different spices and their origins.
Later, Manny and Shantha Mothilal, from Asherville, said the 1860 Heritage Centre was their favourite stop.
