As far as designer collaborations go, Uniqlo likes to approach them with less noise than other brands. There’s no social media takeover and no super-celeb endorsements. The high street store has, for example, been working with former Hermès artistic director Christophe Lemaire for the past few years and the designer now heads up his own line, Uniqlo U. The aesthetic is clean, timeless and takes a directional approach to classic pieces like short-sleeved shirts, shift dresses and pleated midi skirts. On writing this page, we did a bit of research on lobsters. Let’s just say they’re pretty weird.
