Ever since Virgil Abloh took the reins at Vuitton last year as men’s artistic director, you could, looking at the two collections he’s shown so far, be forgiven for believing that everything that comes out of the storied 165-year-old house is now centered on vivid neon-style colors, graphic knits, and bold patterns. In other words, strong on street and casual looks but less focused on what has been a pillar of the brand: understated, timeless tailoring.
