Feeling stuck for inspiration? A new exhibition, André Kertész in Europe, is running at the James Hyman Gallery in London until 13th June, and it’s well worth seeing. Kertész remains one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. His work with the human body was particularly creative, using mirrors to distort limbs, and he also had a keen eye for pleasing geometric compositions in his street work.
Brassaï once said: “André Kertész has two qualities that are essential for a great photographer: an insatiable curiosity about the world, about people and about life, and a precise sense of form.”
