Since the beginning of the pandemic, patients reporting symptoms of gynaecological cancers has dropped by 20 per cent. Although symptoms are often benign, an early diagnosis could lead to a better outcome. There are five main types of gynaecological cancer – ovarian, uterine, vaginal, cervical and vulva – and each year in the UK, there are more than 22,000 diagnosed cases. When reality star Jade Goody died aged 27, in 2009, the number of people getting tested rose, but has since fallen, especially during the pandemic. SWEET TREAT YOU CAN WHIP UP THESE TASTY DESSERTS IN MINUTES CHOCOLATE MOUSSE SERVES 4 • 3 medium ripe bananas • 2 small ripe avocados • 80g rough or smooth almond butter • 30g cocoa powder • 1 tsp vanilla essence • 100g fresh berries • 1 tbsp almonds, chopped STEP 1 Peel and roughly chop the bananas.
