While not all brown marks are cancerous, changes like crusting can be concerning. There are three main types of skin cancer: malignant melanoma, often found in brown moles; squamous cell carcinoma, appearing as ulcers that crust over and don’t heal; and basal cell carcinoma, characterised by slow growth without spreading.
