Having joined a team of people launching Advanced Anointing, the Los Angeles branch of a church based in the Arusha, a city in East Africa’s Tanzania, Melissa Archer (Natalie, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) was in need of training. “Five of us women went to Arusha to learn a lot, but we also wanted to visit the local Faraja Orphanage,” says the actress. “Faraja Maliaki Rayani, who runs it, has such a heart for kids that he started bringing them off the street and fighting to free those who were in jails along with their parents.” While charmed by the children with whom she played, Archer was also struck by the conditions in which they live. “They’ve got over 100 children there — half of them have HIV — and not…
