Longtime behind-the-scenes player Mercer Barrows has clocked out of GH for the last time. Having spent the bulk of his almost 40-year career in Port Charles, the producer retired on March 23. “Mercer is a terrific producer who has spent the past several decades helping to make GH the iconic show it is today,” executive producer Frank Valentini tells In Depth. “After years of devoted service, he’s decided to leave the show in order to, understandably, spend more time with his family in San Diego. Prior to stepping into the role of Hope, Noelle says she was typically offered the “bad girl” characters. “I’ve always been cast as the vixen or tough girl prior to this, so it’s very funny that I’m playing such a sweet character now,” she says.
