Dave started with a basic Element RC Sendero, but decided he needed to make it more of a crawler. He kept the stock Reedy motor and speed control power system but upgrades include Element high-clearance links and some shock keys he fashioned out of an old metal ruler for the stock shocks. He also used CBE link risers for anti-squat and 50-weight shock oil from Team Associated in the rear. The rig rolls on SSD wagon wheels wrapped in Pro-Line BF Goodrich Krawler tires. He sprayed the Sendero body in Tamiya Camel Yellow and installed the Element RC utility bed which is loaded up with a variety of scale accessories. From the outset Jeffery wanted his project to look like a proper ‘80s-era big Chevy truck and he worked on it for a year to bring it about. The fundamentals are RC4WD’s longwheelbase chassis and Chevy K10 cab with a mix of Traxxas and other electronics. The only 3D-printed piece is the big block Chevy engine which is an out-of-production piece, further dressed up with engine parts from some Revell 1/8-scale plastic model kits.
