The winners of the Kindness Awards have been announced, recognising inspiring people, schools, classes and groups across the UK. The awards, sponsored by The Week Junior, were presented by the School of Kindness and organised by the 52 Lives charity. The charity supports schools and communities with projects that encourage kindness, and helps children see the benefits of kindness.
The Outstanding Pupil award was given to James, a Year 2 pupil in Berkshire, England. James has organised regular food bank collections at his school to help people in need. Food banks provide free food and other essential items to people who struggle to afford them. James said he felt “really happy and proud” about helping people.
