Last month, 12-year-old Tom Marsh competed in the 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race as part of a team of 16 sailors. The Fastnet Race is a sailing route from the Isle of Wight, England, to a point off the south of Ireland, and then to Normandy, France. Tom and his team completed it in just under five days.
Tom raised more than £6,000 for Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT), a sailing charity that sends young people from disadvantaged backgrounds on life-changing adventures at sea. Tom told The Week Junior, “I just thought it was amazing what they do and that I’d like to help out.”
