Silicon Valley, in Northern California, is known for it’s mild weather, through the roof real-estate prices, and hundreds of global tech companies like Google, Apple, and Facebook. This place doesn’t quite scream firearms or firearms museum, yet that is exactly what you will find, an hour drive south of San Francisco to the Winchester Gun Museum.
Ironically, the history of the Winchester rifles starts with Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson, who later founded Smith & Wesson. In 1855, the partners established the Volcanic Repeating Arms Company with their largest investor being a clothing manufacturer, Oliver Winchester.
