The FIM and Dorna Sports have announced changes to the Road to MotoGP program that will unify existing junior categories under a single identity. The familiar Red Bull Rookies Cup will continue mostly unchanged, but there’s a new starting point for MotoGP glory, ‘Moto Mini,’ with a new ‘Moto4’ category introduced, too. According to Dorna, each step in the new program works as part of a whole, creating a clear framework for riders and providing scope for the program to further expand around the world, specifically in markets where MotoGP doesn’t have a large presence. Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has secured the services of Jonathan Rea for the 2026 Motul FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). The most successful rider in WorldSBK history, Rea will come out of retirement to serve as test rider for HRC’s 2026 campaign, supporting the new rider lineup of Somkiat Chantra and Jake Dixon. Rea’s new role reunites him with Honda after eleven years with Kawasaki and Yamaha teams in WorldSBK. After spending the 2008 season in the World Supersport Championship with Honda, Rea started his WorldSBK career in 2009, also with Honda. Australia’s Tayla Relph has secured her place on the 2026 grid of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR). Relph’s re-selection for a third full season in the premier all-female motorcycle circuit racing series follows her finishing equal 9th in the 2025 championship and achieving some major breakthroughs throughout the year.
