DWEJRA BAY, MALTA
With gin-clear seas, underwater caves, jewel-like reefs, wrecks and psychedelic fish, Malta is one of the top diving destinations on the planet. The clear water and shallow, sheltered bays make this Mediterranean island a perfect place for beginners. However, experienced divers can also test their aquatic abilities in numerous long tunnels, intricate reefs and caverns. There are also more than 405 species of fish to identify - including the giant mola mola, known as an ocean sunfish. In addition to diving, the island is home to three Unesco World Heritage sites. These include its capital, Valletta, and megalithic temples that predate the pyramids, making them the oldest free-standing monuments in the world.
