In the inaugural issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, April 1993, editor Patricia Van Note wrote: “We believe that the art of quilting is a commitment. It is a commitment of time, which is in short supply these days. It is also a commitment to educating ourselves, to learning new techniques and designs, and to always work to improve our skills. But perhaps, most importantly, quilting is a commitment to the future. With each project we complete, we are acknowledging hope that long after we’re gone, our quilts will warm, delight, and perhaps even inspire future generations.”
