If the NT1100 seems just too sensible and the CRF1100 too off-road racy, minimal and uncomfortable, Honda does provide a third Africa Twinbased option – the CRF1100 Adventure Sport.
Launched in 2018, it originally followed the BMW GS Adventure recipe as the ‘big tanked/more off-road’ variant of the 1000 Africa Twin. Like the standard CRF, it was updated in 2020 with an enlarged 1100 engine, new TFT dash, etc but also had its focus adjusted to be more of a tourer while the standard Twin was pitched as the hardcore off-roader.
The result has the largest tank of these three, at 24.8 litres (capable of 250+ miles), extra comfort due to its larger screen, plus plenty of extra-cost luggage options. Enough, in fact, for Honda to dub it ‘the ultimate…
