In December, Iona O’Donnell from Coventry, England, was chosen to feature on a special list. Every year, a charity called Cycling UK creates a “100 Women in Cycling” list, which highlights women and girls who encourage others to try cycling. Aged 10, Iona was the youngest person on the 2024 list. The Week Junior spoke to Iona, who is now 11, and her dad, Ian, who inspired her love of bike adventures. Two years ago, the pair did their first big cycle tour (a biking trip over several days). One of Iona’s favourite things about cycling is “seeing different surroundings”. She loved cycling in the Netherlands because, she explained, it’s flat and has lots of cycle lanes.
