CAREY HOBSON
According to Carey, his Puma-engined Land Rover Defender 90 is a brute that is in its element when the terrain gets rougher. Here, it was burbling along the Bedrogfontein 4x4 trail in the Kabouga section of the Addo Elephant National Park. The rear seats have been removed to boost load capacity and it is kitted with a RTT, awning, auxiliary fuel tank, bash plate, winch, bull bar, dual-battery system, spot lights, rear spot light, bumper-mounted spare wheel arm, 16-inch Cooper S/T Maxx tyres, and more. This 90 has travelled extensively through the Kalahari to places such as Mabuasehube, Swartpan, Gnus Gnus and Heinie’s Pan, and recently made a trip through the Richtersveld.
