EVERYBODY SEEMS TO KNOW that B and E-body Rallye (Class I styled, stamped-steel / 2-pc wheels) had appliques (“center caps”) retained by 5 screws (early) and then just 3 (late). The color scheme and design varied, however, during the muscle era. 1970 cars used the light argent medium-textured paint design, part number 3461066. In 1971, the caps remained unchanged, but the argent paint, now a very coarse finish, became much darker—but, paradoxically, the parts catalog did not reflect this change (to 3461352) for several years, so, during the early ’70s, lots of 1970 cars were seen with some of each!
