After a 41-year absence from the UK, Honda have revived the humble little Dax. Following on from the success of the Super Cub, Monkey and Grom, on which it’s based, the ST125 is a cute mix of old and new.
Much like the original machine, a T-shaped pressed steel frame is the order of the day but little else is the same. Hanging from the frame is now a SOHC 124cc air-cooled single, with a centrifugal clutch and four speed manual box. The little thumper produces 9.25bhp @ 7000rpm and 8lb.ft @ 5000rpm, which astonishingly is enough to power it to a top speed of 55mph (even two up…). Given the engine is so little, its fuel consumption is equally tiny meaning it can stretch its 3.8 litres of fuel…
