My dad passed away recently, and as a family we decided to let his little collection of vintage tractors go. He’d bought and restored a few over the years, all from the ’40s and ’50s, with rich, exotic names like Nuffield, Allis-Chalmers and Vierzon. None of them were worth much, but whenever we all ended up in Yorkshire for a family occasion we’d parade round the field like some kind of eccentric country show.
