The In Depth Story: While Hughes has been behind the camera before, she’s quite eager to gain more experience in that department. “I would love to direct television,” she tells Soaps In Depth. So when given the opportunity to shadow a director on Freeform’s THE FOSTERS, she jumped — even though that meant missing the annual lunch. “This was my second time shadowing, and it’s been amazing,” says Hughes, who previously directed a short film and most recently, the supernatural indie series CYPRESS BAYOU, which doesn’t have a home yet. (She was slated to direct the indie feature Byrd And The Bees last summer, but funding fell through.) The actress certainly isn’t the first daytimer to step behind the camera.
