I first saw pinstriping in 1992, when was 7 my Dad had his coupe striped by a guy that went by “Gator”. It was one of the coolest things that I have ever seen! Then in 94’ my pops reshot the coupe and had it striped again by a striper that went by “Dr. Ru”. My mom let me stay home from school to watch Ru stripe the car. After watching him and asking questions he handed me a brush and said start practicing. Having no one to show me what to do, practicing got boring really quick for a 9 year old BUNCH. PHOTO 1 Contrast: the state of being striking from something else in juxtaposition or close association…. Contrast is an essential element with choosing colors for your design. Just opening four or five cans of paint and hoping for the best is one way…. but rarely effective. A well thought out design requires cooperation of colors as well as contrast with the background. In this exercise I will wrestle with my contrast against a loud and animated background. As long as I can remember, I have been creating art. I can recall as early as second grade, I was getting in trouble for drawing flames, cars and motorbikes on my papers that I would turn in. This continued on through higher grades, to ’e the teachers told me I couldn’t do that. My response was, why, all I want to do is create art. Growing up, I would ride on my Dad’s 65 Panhead, just in front of him, on the back edge of the tanks. He and my Mom would be on the buddy seat. Like many artists, since I was a child I have liked drawing, at that time my inspiration was artists and illustrators from the world of comics, such as BISLEY, CORBEN, BORIS VALLEJO, LUIS ROYO… in the 80s. I knew the airbrush as a tool. I didn’t I use it as an artistic tool, rather for photo retouching and in a very rough way for posters, but I already sensed that it could give much more play.
